What you can expect at the dojang?

Classes are approximately one hour long, very informative and energetic.  Our primary focus is Discipline, Etiquette and Humility.  Emphasis both internal and external body systems during training.  We begin with a series of stretching and conditioning exercises designed to increase flexibilty and strengthen the muscles and joints (external).  After warming-up, breathing exercises (internal) are performed followed by basic hand strikes, kicking drills, forms practice, falling practice (Internal and external) practice, and joint-locking techniques.  Other specialized training and/or weapons training would complete a daily session.  Classes are usually finished with self-defense or breathing exercise training for cool down.

White thru Blue (beginner level) belts train together, and Red thru Black (advacne level) belts train together.  However children and adults train seperately.  Class activities are modified when appropriate such as in the winter when more warm-up is necessary for safety.

New students are given individual attention to ensure their training gets off to a positive start.  They are also responsible for informing the instructor of any physical limitations or injuries that may restrict them.  Training can be modified to help strengthen any weaker areas.  Students are NEVER rushed.  Even though we believe in training as a team, martial arts is an individual accomplishment.  We don't expect individuals to come in and jump right into class and keep up.  We believe in practicing hard and to the best of your abilities to achieve maximum results.
